I posted this to the Frugal/energy efficient group, but thought I'd pass it along here as well. Treehugger: http://www.treehugger.com/galleries/2009/02/stimulus-tax-credit-guide-obama.php

We are remodeling our home and getting ready to affix the solar panels and a wind turbine we bought a while back. This information may give us the incentive to invest in more. Right now, we figure our two panels will be enough to run all the lighting in the house. What we're aiming for is enough self-generated electricity to run a refrigerator and an air conditioner. Since we can get a tax write-off by purchasing new energy efficient appliances, this would be the route to go. Our fridge and ac are both over 20 years old. We already heat with wood, but again with an old stove--hey, your web site is inspiring us! Thanks!

3. Very cool. Does anyone have an idea of how tax credits, etc work with Soc Sec recipients? |
|
Many don't have to file (non-taxable income)but may need or be able to do some of these projects. Would they get a refund of that amount?
