NPR carrying the GOP water, as usual
While listening this morning (clock radio) all I heard were GOP congressmen being asked for their "reaction to Obama's speech." And when they had their fake "host asks the reporter questions" segments (they're all scripted in advance,) it was nothing but RW talking points: "Can't tax the rich," "lower corporate taxes," "lower tax rates means more revenue."

I'm not really surprised, of course. But you'd think they'd try something new for a change.

1. Sad to say, I stopped waking up to NPR
They have disappointed me time and time again -- so I hardly listen any more.

Their politics are obvious -- just in the way their on-air personalities laugh at certain things their GOP guests have to say is so ugly. I can't listen to it.

2. you know what, I'm going to defend them
When Bush was in office, they put on plenty of people who disagreed with Bush policy.

I would expect them to do the same for Obama.

They never present people's opinions as their own. They merely report what the opposing arguments are.

I listen every morning on my way to work, and every afternoon on my way home. I will continue to do so.

3. I listened to NPR for over 20 years, and gave $$$$. No more. It's very sad what happened to them.
Some say to listen anyway for the local programming; I say I can listen to Community Radio, like KKFI here, for local programming and not wake up to aggravation from NPR.

So I turned my clock radio off a few years ago, because I couldn't stand NPR anymore, and I'm so old that my body is programmed to wake-up at 6a anyway.

4. But according to "some" here at DU, NPR is decidedly
leftist in its coverage.

5. Yeah WTF is up with that?
On the segment they said that Cantor rushed out of the Capitol to an awaiting car, he's clearly on the phone and supposedly just got out from the SOU address, yet Steve Inskeep sounds like he is in the studio and taped this about an hour ago. By the way, NPR's coverage of Obama's speech last night was horrendous.

6. Just got done reading about Republicans dominatng c-span - guess it is to be
expected on NPR. Both are Republicans playgrounds.

I only listen to npr on the weekends and I always avoid the news. They are messing with me, as is c-span. I still consider their republican conversion on my airwaves repulsive.

I know I am missing some great reporting on npr, but I get to upset when I hear their version of the news and their slant towards their guests and I can't be turning if off and on.

I never listen to Fox or CNN.
I listen to CBS Sunday Morning and that is troublesome at times.
I watch the Academy Awards on ABC.
I try to catch Olberman and Maddow through the videos.
C-Span and NPR - run by Republicans.

Republicans robbed people like me of tv, but they robbed their sponsors also - I know there are many more who don't watch anymore.

After watching the Clinton character assassination all during the 90's, I have no use for any of the channels. What an orchestrated takedown as was the 2000 election.

The topper was the recently shown video of the arrogant Cramer guy from CNBC talking about his hedge funds and how they all maneuvered the markets.

Now, there is no cable for link and free tv, but I can hear or watch Democracy Now.

I don't need NPR or C-Span like I used to. I consider that we have been crime victims by the Republican takeover of those two sources of news and guests.

7. If lower tax rates leads to more gov't revenue, then why would conservatives want that?
Of all their inane talking points that one is the dumbest. If it were true, then people like Grover Norquist should be demanding higher taxes, so as to hasten the glorious day of drowning government in the bathtub.
