Ahahaha! It's not a new word, but it's so perfect. Twitter is the dumbest shit I've seen on the internet so far.

What would Larry Craig's twitter be?
6:52 PM: Out in a minute.
6:51 PM: Will be longer met hot guy in bathroom stall.
6:50 PM: In bathroom, out in 5 minutes.

it rarely pertains to the most personal of details.

11. neither does twitter
You're complaining about the content you think people communicate with the medium, not the medium itself.

6. Like Blogs, most will do it badly.
But a few will approach, due to brevity, something akin to haiku.

Depends who's twitting.

7. I've never seen the appeal of it myself either
First, why would I want to inform the world of my every move? Second, why would the world care?

If this keeps up I foresee a bunch of people implanting themselves with the chip and hardware that would enable them to broadcast the film and audio of what they are doing with every single moment of their lives.

8. Well, that's about half the internet.
The other half is porn. The third half is stuff like DU. :D

Most personal blogs are basically like bad diary entries, only they're public.

9. And what's with this telephone nonsense?
Messenger boys were good enough for my ancestors. They should be good enough for everyone now!

And so on.

Yes, it's an odd fad, and it may or may not last long enough to become more than a fad. But it's just another example of new technology expanding into empty social niches and creating new social niches. That's not new.

I dont find it all that different from DU. Have the right people to follow and youre getting the same awesome breaking news from the globe, in real time.

I think Twitter is just really aging a lot of the oh so hi internet crowd because they dont get it.

CombustionGlass if your looking for a fun follow, I never disappoint ;0
