Kellogg’s Suffering the Consequences of Phelps Dismissal
US (ChattahBox) – It looks like the dumping of Michael Phelps from the Kellogg’s sponsorship wasn’t the great PR move the company had hoped.

A new report released from Silicon Alley has shown that Kellogg’s has moved from the reputation of 9th in the country, to 83rd, making it clear that the pot smoker’s threats of a heavy boycott worked the way they said it would.

“Not even an industry-wide peanut scare inflicted as much damage on the food company’s reputation,” the report claimed.

It’s true. The massive salmonella outbreak, in which they were found to have been aware of potential contamination, took a back seat to the Phelps scandal, and it now seems that the company’s reputation could be damaged beyond all repair.

:bounce: Pricks.
The petitioners were correct. Kellogg's had more smokin' customers than they ever imagined.
Delighted with their success.

17. I'm imagining a TV commercial
where someone takes several bong hits, then eats handfuls of cereal right out of the box

"Rice Crispies. When you have the screaming munchies."

All they'd have to do is look for boxes of Rice Krispies. :silly:

8. Just some info on the "data" that is being reported here.
"Ad Age reports that cereal company Kellogg may have taken a hit for its decision to drop Michael Phelps after the bong photo fiasco.

Vanno, a website that follows 5,500 companies, compiles its reputation index by capturing "gossip, news, opinion and personal insight about companies and their reputations" submitted by users that it converts into numerical scores and rankings. Its figures shows Kellogg, which was ranked an impressive No. 9 in January, fell to No. 16 after announcing its peanut-butter-related recalls. But the company fell to No. 68 after letting Mr. Phelps go...According to Vanno, Kellogg has since fallen to 83.

I don't know how valid Vanno's reputation tracking formula is, but it's at lest encouraging to see the company's rank go down rather than up."

11. So the ranking is compiled by online gossip, news, and opinions?
Maybe this means pot smokers use the internet more. Maybe the internet leads to pot smoking. We better ban the internet before all our kids end up on drugs!

14. Haven't spent a dime on their products since.
Never will either. My kids, who love their cereal, never noticed we switched brands. That is a remarkable drop, from 9th to 83rd. That's Greeeeeat!

contract. Savor the irony. He hits a bong and then does a commercial for Kellogg's. Not any more.
