MSNBC seems to think only Republican congressmen have opinions.
In the afternoons, anyway.

That's OK. The afternoons are the time when only Republican congressmen watch MSNBC, so it's kind of a fused loop.

But Jesus, they do love them some afternoon GOP lovin' on MSNBC these days.

Porn has more dignity than this.

1. Being in the minority gives them more free time to glom up airwaves
The Dems are busy, you know, working on saving the country right now. Good thing that Obama is making lots of speeches and Gibbs is doing daily press briefing or we'd probably never see anything from the reality-based community.

2. I think the more of them the better!
From what I see of them, they are making fools of themselves, and of their party. They make no sense, they whine and cry, and they seem to have no idea at all about what the facts really are. What the dems need to do is keep track of the the false statements they make, and then send out some democrats to bring out the falsehoods the republicans are spewing, and used "facts" to show they made things up.

4. I can see how people who watch TV in the afternoons get a different view of it than I do
It seems like every time I turn on MSNBC I see either Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow. That makes it very hard for me to believe that the media is strongly controlled by conservatives.

12. Just change the channel and you'll see.
Edited on Thu Feb-26-09 05:09 PM by cui bono
Just because one station shows some intelligent people on it doesn't mean they all do. And even on MSNBC they have that tool David Gregory, and Matthews always has on a ton of Repubs.

19. I watch mostly educational channels and documentaries
Occasionally movies. Political talking heads of all stripes have very little appeal for me, even when I agree with them.

25. That's fine, my point was that if you only tune in MSNBC
when you do watch that type of programming you won't see how the rest of the media is dominated by the right wing viewpoint.

26. Understood - MSNBC is my preferred news channel mainly for one reason
I watch news channels usually for an event like a speech, rocket launch, or other major planned event. The audio and video quality on MSNBC are always better than CNN's, and Fox is the pits in every way you can name.

9. Exactly. Bushiganda. Perception managment. Word came down from Corporate.
Edited on Thu Feb-26-09 04:18 PM by tom_paine
Since the Democrats are in power, put many extra Rushpublics on TV for "balance".

Of course, the word that came down from Corporate following Bushler's seizure of power coup in 2000 was:

Since the Rushpublics are in power, and won "officially" by a massive majority of negative 500,000 votes, it clearly indicates that the Liberals have been smashed terribly and there should be a massively disproportionate amount of Rushpublicans on to reflect the values and attitudes of America.

Bushiganda does indeed make it's own realities, and I worry that, because it hasn't changed, eventually the Nazification/Bushification will pick up right where it left off like nothing happened.

6. They are looking for controversial, divergent opinions
The Democrats are united. There's no controversy in hearing one Democrat after another say the same thing.

It's all about ratings and that means DRAMA!

11. Lazy Producers...
It's long been a beltway problem...the GOOP has long jobbed the refs...in this case, producers, who know they can get a GOOPer on camera quick. Also the RNC had (not sure if they still do), a "speakers bureau" that worked along with right wing "think" tanks that made a wide variety of "experts" available. This is the residual of that "Mighty Wurlitzer" that all but dominated the newsrooms during the booooosh years.

I have all but tuned OUt cspan these days..

I had so hoped that once we were back in charge, we would see more dems on, but I hoped in vain.. the only ones who seem to be out there, are the DLCers who are little more than republicans in donkey-drag:(

16. Hey
Edited on Thu Feb-26-09 05:34 PM by WilliamPitt
I've been busting my arse planning this thing. We're having a husband-and-wife team who enters and wins national barbecue contests doing the cooking for the rehearsal dinner (my mom knows the wife), we're having the wedding reception in a big old beautiful barn with a silo and a gigantic stone fireplace, and we're doing all of this in the White Mountains right at the peak of the foliage season.

All me, baby. C'mon, my fiancee works. Someone has to do it. ;)

The barn:

So, nah, not excited at all.
