"Chicago Tea Party Protest" Happens Today at Noon.
Edited on Fri Feb-27-09 10:13 AM by Avalux
They are protesting everything Obama - specifically the mortgage plan and budget - sparked by Santelli's rant. The faithful will be gathering in 50 major cities all over the country. A spokesman was just on MSNBC urging people who do not agree with Obama's plans to show up at the Arch in St. Louis, the Alamo, Golden Gate Bridge, etc. He predicts hundreds to thousands of people at each location! Their goal is to stop European socialism from taking over this country.

Their motto:

"Fiscal responsibility is the new counterculture."

MSNBC promises coverage of the Tea Party. I can't wait to see the "hundreds to thousands" who show up. Should be entertaining.

:hi:

13. You gotta see the comments for Chicago.
Someone said Obama's rallies were so well attended because none of his followers worked.

Shit like this really draws the cockroaches out of the woodwork.

With more portopotties than FReepers.

Obviously these paragons of business are too busy being successful.

6. While fiscal responsibility is very important, where were they the last 8 years?

And fiscally responsible people will NEVER be the counter-culture.

8. Exactly. Their entire premise is moronic.
These little 'protests' will be nothing but hate-fests against Obama and all Democrats.

at this point, they'll be outnumbered by school kids.

15. Yeah, I saw that. Thinking about putting on my Obama shirt and driving down there.
I've been wanting to take a leisurely stroll around the Alamo and today would be a good day to do it. ;-)

17. Pitiful isn't it? What's ironic though -
not many will show up and those that do will be extremists. Coverage of that won't be a bad thing as it will further reinforce how out of touch with reality the Pukes are.

WOW! I'm grading essays in the home office today, but I'll have to check MSNBC periodically to catch the revolution!

It seems that in St. Louis, they're going to toss tea bags into the Mississippi River!

25. No dear. 100s TO 1000s.
Taking a look at the sign up lists; there might be a hundred or so at the rallies in big cities. Only a handful signed up here in San Antonio. :hi:

27. Wasn't the original Tea Party
as a reaction to taxation without representation? History isn't my strong point, but I thought that was what led to the tea dumping brouhaha. Are these people claiming they did not get the chance to elect representatives?
