The market looks like it's tanking...
Edited on Fri Feb-27-09 03:31 PM by CoffeeCat
I've been watching the DOW, and in the past 20 minutes, it's gone down about 50 points.

It's been dropping steadily during the past half hour.

It doesn't look like we're doing to end on a strong note, going into the weekend...

...but what do I know?

Edited to say, the DOW has gone *down* 106 now...

2. If the Dow's at 106
we're in a lot more trouble than we think...

5. Hopefully the poster meant it went down 106 points?
Otherwise, we are really in for a terrible time.

13. The DOW was holding steady...
...and during the last half hour, it really started to sink.

Who knows where we'll end up today...but it felt like a lot of people
running away--before the close of market today, before the weekend.

You are right...there have been a lot of posts like this.

I think many DUers like to talk about the stock market and hear
what others have to say about the volatility. Me included.

12. Market volatility was a "major foreboding" that help usher in the last Great Depression.
Oh, but hey! T.G.I.F. for those of you who are still employed.

15. From link above... I am not downplaying the fact it's tanking, just not omging today.
High (day): 7,195.46
Low (day): 7,033.62
YTD%Change: -18.87%

It has been up and down all day, just not going to "OMG" at it being down 106 at one moment. Now it is down 63 points, oops, 65.

11. Only one thing to do...Sell your stocks at the bottom....
Because "Buy High, Sell Low" is the only way to riches.....

14. Well, if you could clue us in...
...and tell us all where the bottom is--that's be most helpful.

Thanks!

21. Don't know. But here's what I do:
When everyone is asking "Which Stocks Should I Buy?", I sell stocks.

When everyone is asking "Where is the Bottom?", I buy stocks.

Works for me. But, feel free to sell into a panic if you think that's best...

23. I bought in '92 thru '94, sold it all in 2000-2001 and I bought a little last fall...
and I'll probably buy more next week.

I doubled my humble investment the first time. Doubt I'll do that well this time, but we'll see...

good from Wall Street for many months.
