Breastfeeding While Driving? WTF?
KETTERING, Ohio -- A Dayton mother is facing charges for breast feeding her daughter while driving her other children to school.

(snip)

Police say Comptom could have injured her child and others because she was breast feeding and talking on the cell phone while driving the vehicle.

Compton was issued citations for child endangering and violating the child restraint law. Compton told News Center 7 Friday, "If my child's hungry, I'm going to feed it."

(snip)

In this case, officers said Compton had the child in the lap with the baby's head up against the steering wheel. They say there is not only the risk of a crash, but deployment of the airbag.
----------

I cannot imagine. I often joke about standing in the backseat of the folks car riding when I was a kid or laying across the back window, or sitting unrestrained in the front seat... but even in those carefree days, nobody in their right mind would breastfeed a baby while driving.

She speaks as if not feeding the baby would come before hanging up the phone or pulling over.

There is even more to the story... she's belligerently saying she'll do it again. I'm a native Ohioan and I could swear the IQs are generally higher than this.

8. I know. I remember standing on the front seat riding down the street
me and my sisters would also lie in the back window of my mom's Ford Galaxy (sp?) 500 and pretend we were riding through space in our spaceship.

19. That was funny!
Yep, even without the cell phone, it is a supremely stupid thing to do. Wasn't there some law also violated about having the baby in a proper infant seat in the back of the car?

12. That's the most asinine thing...
...I've read in a very long time.

This is just as bad as the woman who picked her kids up from school---drunker than a skunk.

What a twit. She's probably going to make herself into a saint--for feeding her hungry child
when it needed to eat. She'll miss the fact that she endangered her child and did a really
dangerous thing.

I've breastfed two children. You pull the car over.

seated on her lap while she was driving? This isn't different. I'm surprised as to just how stupid these women are.

26. She thinks the airbag will protect the child and her in the case of an accident.
No one appears to have educated this extremely thickheaded woman that AIRBAGS KILL KIDS. Especially babies. And that is why YOU PUT THEM IN CHILD SEATS OR RESTRAINTS IN THE BACK SEAT. FACING BACKWARDS. Until they are the proper size for a regular belt.

There's just no thought process going on here. Apparently she thinks there is no alternative, if she's driving at the time her baby is used to being fed, other than feeding it WHILE she drives.
