Sen. Bernie Sanders told Thom Hartmann today that the previous lending to the "banks" has been $2.2 Trillion counting the loan guarantees by the Federal Reserve Bank, but that they have refused, in writing in the seeming comic strip words of Wimpy, to account for how the money is being spent.

Cute grin, huh?

Do I hear hearings on this mess and the overlooking of the Madoff ponzi scheme by the lovely Bush SEC chairman http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Cox">Chris Cox. Cox, you may recall, was the fearless SEC leader who instituted the naked short-selling rule that let unregulated hedge funds and institutions make tons of money while destroying the stock price values of otherwise healthy companies.
