Raising taxes on the wealthy |
|
to pay for healthcare is like saying Bank employee bonuses didn't come from the TARP money... doesn't most all tax money go into a general pool and then used to pay government employee wages and benefits, military spending, money for infrastructure, research, etc., etc.,......
A high tax rate on the wealthy helps to cover our government expenses, motivates large business and individuals to reinvest, give to charity and to generally use the money they have made (from the labor and purchasing power of lower income individuals) wisely. I am lucky enough to have a (unfortunately not a high paying) job and will not complain about the taxes I pay (I welcome the opportunity to pay significantly more if universal health care is implemented!!)

1. Under Eisenhower, Wealthiest Americans Paid 50% In Federal Taxes |
|
Now they pay 18%.
Oddly, the Middle Class paid taxes back then at less than half the rate they do now.
Eisenhower was obviously a socialist loon.

to trade where I am now with being in that top tax bracket.
I don't hear to many rich people willing to trade places with the likes of me.
