13-Year-Old Conservative Wunderkind Wows CPAC, Joe The Plumber
Jonathan Krohn: 13-Year-Old Conservative Wunderkind Wows CPAC, Joe The Plumber

February 27, 2009 04:11 PM

The future of the conservative movement presented himself on Friday, and he was 13.

Jonathan Krohn, the author of "Define Conservatism" and political prodigy voted "Atlanta's Most Talented Child" in 2006, was the talk of the Conservative Political Action Conference for a brief portion of the afternoon session.

His two-minute address on "Conservative Victories Across the Nation" covered the lost principles of the Republican Party, which he called the "shell" to conservatism's "filling." It was filled with the type of rhetorical flow and emotional pitch one would expect from a seasoned hand. Except, Korn is more than four years away from being able to vote.

.....................

"I got into politics when I was eight years old. Six years now. And I got involved because I started listening to talk radio. It goes back to one event. The Democrats filibustered something in the Senate when I was eight years old. I don't remember what it was on and I didn't honestly care when I was eight years old. I cared about the history and the Senate rules," he told the Huffington Post. "I listened to Bill Bennett and tons of other talk show hosts who talked about that and other policies and started branching out and caring about other issues in regards to politics. Bill Bennett really became an idol for me. I listened to him every morning from 6 to 9 for, oh, years. And I started learning more and started to be able to think on my own, understanding politics on my own. I started to be able to use my mind to engage in political conversations under the conservative banner."

1. A 13-year old, Joe the Plumber, Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal. I don't think a comedy club could get
a better lineup.

I'll have my bucket of popcorn waiting while I watch this.

3. Don't discount because of age - discount because of beliefs and ideology.

2. Wow if the DNC had a kid like that the headline would read:
Is this 13 year old the Anti-Christ?

5. He's got certain Republican traits mastered
Because I sure as hell don't remember the Democrats filibustering anything. So he's got the Bobby Jindal Course in Fake Memories working for him. Listening to Bill Bennett? I mean, what are the odds?

And the "started to be able to think on my own" thing. Papa Rush couldn't be prouder. Be sure to tune in Monday, young Jonathan, so you'll know what to think for yourself for the coming week.

6. If Democrats had rolled out a 13-year-old, Repubs would be howling about Liberal Brainwashing
Good for the thirteen year old. CNN's needed another Tucker Carlson for several years now.

10. Yes. Tucker is getting a bit long in the tooth. And I think his voice is changing.
But have you heard the kid? He sounds like Rush on helium. It's quite funny.

11. "My generation will merrily pay off the republicon debt." - Kid
Edited on Sat Feb-28-09 10:37 AM by SpiralHawk
"We are just thrilled that our Republicon Homelander elders have left us a huge, stinking mess of debt and trashed infrastructure and environment after their 8 long years of Epic FAIL. It will be our HONOR and JOY to spend our lives mopping up the messes and paying off the debt Republicon Homelanderism is bequeathing to us."

13. His four principles of sound conservatism:
-Respect for the Constitution: Didn't we see eight years of a President wiping his ass with the Constitution? For example, warrantless wiretapping? The entire nation was (and is) under surveillance.

-Respect for Life: Unless you're brown and middle eastern, then fuck you.

-Less government: Conservatives love to define government in whatever way that suits them. They will tell you whether or not you can sell a vibrator or a bong, but that's not considered government expansion. Not to mention ballooning the defense budget.

-Personal responsibility: From David Vitter to Ollie North to this kid's hero Bill Bennett (who wrote a book about virtues while being a gambling addict), I'd say this rings pretty damn hollow in practice.

Mozart was 4 when he wrote his first piece, and this kids obviously smart as a whip. But politics requires more than brainpower to be effective, it requires a life lived to be meaningful. That he thinks Palin would make a good candidate is all anyone really needs to know. The sad thing is, he's probably their most cogent voice. A bit creepy, though.

15. I heard that kid on Hartmann, and was amazed at his complete lack of manners.
Edited on Sat Feb-28-09 12:09 PM by Marr
He interrupts constantly, sighs over the other person as if to say, "what a fool you are", shouts, etc., etc.

He's mimicking your average Republican media clown, of course-- but they act like spoiled, unruly children, too.

16. Betcha that little twit is home schooled
Could you imagine some smart mouthed little punk like that in a public school?

It would be a wedgie filled existence. And my guess is he wouldn't get laid very much either.

He's by far one of the most annoying little pieces of shit I've ever heard. When he was on with Tom Hartmann the other day I thought it was Coultergeist.

18. You might be sorry you brought up the homeschooling.
There was another thread on this kid with a ton of responses, almost all of them on a tangent about homeschooling.

Ya, sure.. a 13-year-old kid has the emotional capacity to understand the "conservative" crap he is dishing out?

I hope he meets a very large 13-year-old class mate with a good left hook.... "Baammmm"
