Former indy to run as Dem against Schmidt
@ 3:14 pm by Hill Staff

David Krikorian, who helped foil Democrats’ attempts to take Rep. Jean Schmidt’s (R-Ohio) seat in November, will run under their banner in 2010.

Krikorian announced Friday on his campaign website that he will run as a centrist Democrat in 2010.

Kirkorian took 17.7 percent last year – a figured higher than any other independent in the country, according to Ballot Access News – and raised a respectable $200,000. Because of his performance, Schmidt won with well under 50 percent, defeating Democrat Victoria Wulsin, 45-37.

Krikorian said he has drawn support from conservatives, moderates and liberals in the past and will continue in that vein.

“I’m a fiscal conservative, and I believe our district shares that philosophy,” he said in a video posted to his website. “I support our president, and I want to help our district and our country get back on its feet.”

1. He sounds like a dick. They should get a better Dem to run against him.
