Joe Scar responds to Jon Stewart
at the beginning of his morning show: "At least I'm not a blind ideologue".

This is response to Stewart last night: "I like my morning news like I like my coffee, white and bitter".

Daily Show writers will wake up and cheer.

Joe just messed up. He took the bait.

21. My prayer last night has been answered: Thank-you Sweet Jesus!
I wished/prayed for Joe Scarborough to openly attack Jon Stewart's "Daily Show."

Alleluia! :woohoo:  :-)

Below is a figurative depiction of The Daily Show Writers salivating and licking their chops over "Joey the pussy-cat."

8. Don't pick a fight with a good comedian
You can't win. If the comedian has stand up experience (which John Stewart does) he has experience with hecklers and he will crush you like a bug.

14. People are always complaining that we don't have a Rush
We don't want a Rush. We don't want someone with an ego so big that he crosses over from being an entertainer (a bad one) to thinking he's leader of the party.

The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are our answer, and their actually funny.

13. "News" Show vs. Comedian
Comedian ALWAYS wins. While the "News" show attempts to out "humor" the comedian, the comedian not only will have the last word, but laugh as well. Simply stated, the comedian can use twisted reality to get his point, the "news" person has to untangle that reality...and their attempts always lead to more comedy.

It's fun to watch the right wing blow hards have to defend their turfs. Be it Rushbo getting more scrutiny than he's had in years (as well as ridicule) to all the hate spewers like Beck and Hannity who are all but ready to explode to Joey and Cramer and their pissing match with Comedy Central. These goons went years spewing their bullshit and no one called them on it. Now the worm is turned and the increased light is making them get even goofier.

The once infallible media and their rushpublican toadies are now having to wake up that its credibility has been spent and they've become a national joke. They no longer outrage or shock...they only evoke laughter.

15. It's one of the reasons Keith has been so successful.
He dared to be irreverent about the "real" news the same way he and Dan Patrick dared to be irreverent about sports on ESPN. To many others, sports was a sacred cow; to him it was a bunch of grown men playing kids' games and getting paid millions to do it, and he showed it. He feels the same way about much of the news, although he has the distinct gift of knowing when the comedy is inappropriate, and being serious and somber when called for. He also knows when to get mad and what to get mad about. (And it causes his enemies to try to paint him as nothing but another angry blowhard like them, when of course he's anything but.)

But one of his greatest triumphs is his ability to show when the emperor has no clothes and when the clothes have no emperor. And he's not afraid to do it in a way that gets a laugh. He and Jon Stewart and Stephanie Miller and others like them just dismantle Rushbo, Beck, Hannity, Coulter, Savage, Ingraham, Malkin and their ilk with glee, and their victims are left spluttering.

16. Give Al Franken Credit As Well
KO has merged the "hip" and irony of TDS into the cable news world...attracting an audience that had tuned out and has led the way for others to follow. I watched him regularly during his first MSNBC stint when he did it the way they told him...non-stop Monicagate...but even then he threw an edge on things...always going for the irony whenever he could. Countdown was liberating for him...even though he had to watch his steps at first.

His critics play on his rants, but they never touch on the content. Ya gotta think that every Sunday night when Rushbo turns on NBC and sees Keith on the Football games, it's gotta boil his already boiled butt. Sure a lot different than Rushbo's short-lived prime time exposure (right Donovan McNabb) as well as his buddy Dennis Miller.

There was a time when hate radio spewers like Rushbo were "entertaining". Their shitck was new and they took on sacred bulls on the left with massive amounts of sarcasm & ridicule. Over time, their entertainment value waned as it was obvious that it was hate that was driving their agenda, not irony.

While George Carlin was the master in pointing a lot of this out, it was Al Franken who showed how much of a glass jaw these right wing blowhard have. No wonder the rushpugican's worst nightmare will be seeing SENATOR Franken speaking on the Senate floor with the crucial 59th vote. Sucks to be them.

The over-the-top, chicken little games of the hate radio spewers and Faux Noise nuts is pure comedy gold now...and looks like Jon Stewart found a motherlode over at CNBC as well. The interesting synergy is to see how the right can't deal with the ridicule...and their counter attacks just provide more fodder. The fools. May they keep talking themselves into further irrelevance.

Cheers...

45. Stewart and Colbert are thriving while Joe is struggling
His show was fairly interesting before the election. Now, Joe is cranky. Mika just dithers and does her Edith Bunker imitation. Even Erin Burnette has been a mess. Today on Joe's show, she brought up the idea that if we didn't have unemployment benefits, people would find jobs faster. You know, like in China.
