Is this Page Six item on Jon Stewart a hit piece or just good reporting?
Evidently, Jon's real surname is "Leibowitz" and his brother works on Wall Street and may have fed him some info.

I hope Jon takes on the post today and has fun with this.

NO NEED TO CLICK THE LINK: I gave you everything (4 paragraphs worth) with the exception of a blurb that Cramer's ratings are declining.

JON Stewart, the scourge of Wall Street and bane of CNBC, may have had a secret weapon in his corner to help him prep for his grudge match with "Mad Money" host, Jim Cramer - his older brother.

As the Wall Street Journal recently pointed out, Stewart's brother, Larry Leibowitz, is head of US Markets & Global Technology at NYSE Euronext. (Stewart's given surname is also "Leibowitz," but he famously told "60 Minutes" that he changed it to "Stewart" because Leibowitz "sounded too Hollywood"). Larry has also held high positions at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley.

A Page Six spy who recently shared an elevator ride at the NYSE with Leibowitz and Big Board CEO Duncan Niederauer says, "They both got off on the sixth floor, after Leibowitz had practically been doing everything but shine his shoes for the short ride up. What a routine they have. One brother pretends to kick Wall Street's butt by crucifying Cramer on his show, while the other brother is down on Wall Street kissing it."

Whatever advice the elder Leibowitz gave the talk-show host before last week's showdown, it worked: The typically loudmouthed Cramer was uncharacteristically silent in the face of Stewart's attacks and even seemed repentant at times.

I read somewhere else that his older brother was in Wall Street too
But for the rest of it, whatever. He said to Jim Cramer that he knows people on Wall Street who are good guys, so it's not really like it's a big secret act. Page Six can go fuck itself.

4. NYSE Euronext hasn't asked for a bailout as far as I know
so Larry Leibowitz must be doing SOMETHING right!

6. During the Cramer interview he said he had "good friends" on Wall Street
Any fool can see the point is moot - Stewart reports himself to be a comedian and his sources for material are simply put, immaterial.

7. Looks like they were trying to hit him but
what's wrong with getting information from someone he knew or was related to on Wall Street?
I'm not upset if he had an inside track to how things work and used it in his show.
If his brother is "kissing" Wall Street would he want Jon to crucify it? Something doesn't add up to me in that story.

Don't our TV commentators constantly brag about getting inside information?

Specifically inside sources like "A Page Six spy"

It's slanting the information for one side's benefit that should be outed, not simply having sources!

9. So both Stewart and Cramer have Wall Street sources
But only one of them got the story right. And the Post is . . . well, what? Are they saying that Stewart shouldn't have been so right? That Stewart's brother shouldn't be working for a living? I guess this titillating story for the other Kewl Kidz is supposed to make the poor, beleaguered millionaires at CNBC feel better about the lousy job they're doing as journalists, but other than that? Even on St. Patrick's Day, eyes turned green by jealousy aren't fashionable.

11. This is his older brother but that doesn't necessarily make the rest of this gossip article true:
Anyway, the WSJ reported about his brother before the show with Cramer aired..

When you’re lying in bed watching tonight’s big TV event–”The Daily Show’s” face-off between Jon Stewart and Jim Cramer — you can wow your spouse with this bit of Deal Journal trivia:

“Hey honey, did you know that Jon Stewart’s brother is a big shot Wall Street executive?”

That’s right. In prepping for tonight’s showdown, Stewart is likely ignoring his comedy writers and instead seeking counsel from his brother Larry Leibowitz, the head of U.S. Markets and Global Technology at NYSE Euronext.

The 48-year-old Leibowitz is something of a Wall Street journeyman. He joined the NYSE from UBS, where he served as chief operating officer of the equity business in the U.S. Prior to that he co-ran Schwab’s capital markets business. Before that, Leibowitz co-founded a quantitative hedge fund called Bunker Capital, served as CEO of REDIbook and headed up quant trading at CSFB.

Here's Larry:
