I've Been Listening To Sean Hannity A Lot Lately
And I thought each and every one of you would like to know:

he thinks obama is a socialist

Here's something else I noticed:

he speaks the same catchphrases over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again

he seems to hit the "dump" button whenever he is intellectually challenged

and then he repeats the same catchphrases over and over and over and over and over again

It's not radio; it's indoctrination through mild hypnosis

1. One Question...
When is he NOT "intellectually challenged?" :eyes:

And worse, his message is multiplied by the entire cadre of right wing pitch men.

2. It's him getting millions of dollars to tell disenfranchised idiots their opinions.
It's that simple.

3. I don't think he needs a dump button, all he has to do to take a dump is open his mouth.

11. I've Tried the Sore Tooth and Hammer Trick
At least with Hannity, I can scream expletives at the radio from the comfort of my subcompact car and feel vindicated.

6. Ummm duh??
This sleazel started on radio in Atlanta (well really Huntsville AL first) and has always used the same pathetic tactics - I called him and totally shut him up just before the Iraq War and I should call him up and make him play the tape back today and apologize because I was right and he was wrong (well really not "wrong" but a paid lying shill).

13. I Remember Him From the 90's at WGST
His right wing drivel hasn't changed an iota. Just the scope of his reach.

IMO, if the "Fairness Doctrine" entailed an honest debate between both sides of the aisle, then all of us would benefit greatly. What we accept as "politically informative talk radio" is nothing short of unmitigated propaganda.

Sean Hannity: Propagandist.

WE ought to repeat that over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

15. me too... before that he was on WVNN Huntsville AL..
I went to an event where he was speaking out once in Arizona that made my skin crawl it was loaded with fundy pro-war people and he was there to tell everyone how wonderful the war was gonna be - this was late fall 2002.

I was like the lone dissenter in this whole room of wing-nuts and he was his usual ass-hat self.

8. It's brain-washing
repeat a message over and over, present "evidence" which backs your view, limit other opinions, and keept it up until people believe it. This 25% or whatever they are fringe out there is looking for reinforcement. It's no accident that Limbaugh, Coulter, O'Reilly, Hannity, and now the oh-so-crazy Glen Beck repeat the same damn thing over and over again every single day.

10. This is what fundie preachers do
and yes, it's indoctrination. The right wing learned how to do it when Reagan brought the fundies into the party. It's hard as hell to break, but it can be done.

12. your observations are accurate imo
I used to listen to him quite a bit also.

He is a funny guy - he learned to say "Ahmadinejad" early on. He would use the name in every other sentence just to show his listeners how "in-touch" he was.

Also, if you listen enough you will begin to hear many discrepancies in his pitch. For example, he will offer different reasons for flunking out of NYU. The liberal professors hated him, or some other story. It would change depending on the point he was attempting to make.

He is a true picture of opportunism. My wife remembers his really early career - before he adopted conservatism. He was a really hokey DJ with truly horrible radio presence. He has perfected a personality that appeals to that intellectually-challenged right winger.

Same sound bites - over and over and over and over. He has memorized something for every issue.

14. Why do you listen, then?
"It's not radio; it's indoctrination through mild hypnosis."
I really don't understand being hypnotized by stupidity: but then I've always carefully missed the chance to listen to the doofus.

16. It was a beautiful day in Raleigh. I worked out in the garden all day. Hannity who?!
I am glad brave souls here put themselves through stuff like that so I can just read the punchlines. I just refuse to waste my time on wastes of time.

You made your own thread obsolete, because that really says it all.

That is exactly what it is, and that is all it is.
