1. It's constitutionally protected. or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition |

the government for a redress of grievances.
Amendment number one.

4. so are you in favor of outlawing lobbyists or outlawing political contributions? |
|
I'm a registered lobbyist. I would've loved to donate to Obama's campaign. But I couldn't because he wouldn't take money from lobbyists. So my wife, who isn't a registered lobbyist, wrote him a check.
By the way, I wrote several thousand dollars in checks to other Democrats who don't bar contributions from individuals who happen to be lobbyists. Most of them, I've never met or even set foot in their office.
Is my contribution to them worse than a contribution by a business executive who isn't a lobbyist?

8. As a lobbyist, do you promote causes that that don't benefit the |
|
constituents of a district. My perception of a lobbyist is someone who represents a special interest that is getting influence for a project that does not necessarily benefit the constituents of a district. BTW I want to be a lobbyist. How do you do become one ?

3. I am uneducated on this, but does this describe lobbyist? |
|
"petition the government for a redress of grievances". I perceive lobbyist as self interested promoting a cause.

13. a lobbyist is someone who spends more than a specified amount of time |

engaged in written or oral communications on behalf of an employer/client aimed at influencing the introduction, defeat or enactment, or amendment of legislation.
A wide range of groups, including for profit and non-profit entities, employ in-house and outside lobbyists. Businesses have lobbyists, as do unions. Oil companies have lobbyists, as do environmental groups.

They were pointing out that you wanted to ban one lobbyist in your OP, as opposed to baning all lobbyists.

As someone who has a family member who is a lobbyist I can say, love the stereotypes! :eyes: Lobbyists lobby for some evil groups like NOW, NCAAP, Sierra Club, and other evil groups like this. BAN THEM ALL RIGHT FUCKING NOW! :eyes:

12. Is there a way to separate the good from the bad? |
|
Why does any question have to result in a profane shouting match ? I would have to say that the general perception of lobbyist is negative. Is that right or wrong. That is my perception.

16. no, there is no way to separate the "good" from the "bad" |
|
The positions that you may think are "good" may be positions that others think are "bad" (and vice versa).
Its like asking whether some people accused of murder should have the right to a defense counsel and others not have that right.

17. .Do they lobby the Supreme Court ? |
|
Why not limit lobbying pre election. Get the person elected that suits your needs. Then it would be representative government, not after the fact government.

20. That was a valid question. |

I think lobbying of the supreme court would be more effective than lobbying legislatures. If people were hired to do a job, then I don't think second guessing the electorate is in the best interest of the people.

Lobbyist --- someone who tries to influence legislative process
Supreme Court -- not the legislative process.
I'm trying not to get too snarky here, but instead of posting silly OPs, maybe you could spend some time learning basic civics.
Or maybe you're just a troll.
