DNC: Republican Leadership Is “Watching Britney Fiddle While The Economy Burns”

Another sharp one-liner from DNC spokesperson Hari Sevugan, in a statement just now, rips the GOP for failing to produce budget specifics with a reference to Eric Cantor’s trip to the Britney concert during Obama’s presser:

The lack of urgency displayed by the Republican party at this time of national crisis is shocking. Republican leadership is, in a manner of speaking, watching Britney fiddle while the economy burns.

Which gives us another excuse to link to our Hari Sevugan profile, in case you missed it on Friday. And now the shameless attempts at “beat-sweetening” are officially over.

The larger story here, of course, is that last week’s GOP release of their budget seems like a kind of astonishingly awful political mistake that gave Dems an opportunity to keep up the “party of No” assault, with Republicans furnishing the ammunition.
