Since Texas' governor has declared sovereignty, shouldn't their senators resign? |
|
Does their ongoing presence in the Senate not undermine the governor's claim?

1. Yep, and all fed dollars should cease flowing into Texas. |
|
I'm sure Texans won't miss that nasty Federal social security, VA, or Pell Grant money. We need to stop treading on 'em!

2. Now that's not fair to the citizens of Texas, most of whom I'm sure are loyal to the US... |

5. Well, that depends. What kind of government will the sovereign nation of Texas be? |
|
Perry may have no use for democratically elected representatives.
Though I suppose if he wants them, he could always recall them from the foreign capital.

7. I'm speaking of US senators. How they run their own internal affairs is no concern of mine. |
|
Although frankly I'd hope that Perry would become some kind of fucked up Texas answer to Kim Jong Il

9. Perhaps it could be handled like Milton and Office Space... |
|
We don't technically need them to resign.
If Texas is no longer part of the country then, according to the Constitution, we can no longer pay them for their services. We'll also have to take away their offices, of course.
Eventually they'll either get the hint and go back to Texas or burn the Capitol down.
