They are making me mad that my stimulus check hasn't been direct deposited!!
The bank says my mother's has come in and her last digit
number is 96 and mine is 95, the treasury dept claims that in
direct deposits the earlier number is supposed to come first.
And to add to insult to injury my aunt who gets hers through
the mail and has already has spent it. All of my relatives on
SS have already get theirs; but mine is nowhwere in sight and
they get them thru the mail I as always told direct deposit
comes before the expense of mailing them out.

19. It's like they all got together and decided to use that font when they post on DU
...as a way to "secretly" let others know who/what they really were.

Edited on Thu May-07-09 01:47 PM by CountAllVotes
medical bills that is and yes, he is on Medicare and has a costly supplemental plan ($4,000 a year - this takes up most of what he gets from SS) and he is going blind for Christ's sake.

He served in the Army during the Korean war - drafted - right after arriving in the USA. His service was extended by JFK thanks to the Cuban Missile crisis. And ... he gets a very small amount from SS and refuses any SSI benefits as he doesn't much care for the gov't in this country WITH GOOD DAMN REASON IMO.

Oh well ... it will help in any event.

14. if you receive SSA, SSDI or SSI you will get $250.00
more here:

Vice President Joe Biden and Michael J. Astrue, Commissioner of Social Security, announced today that the federal government will send out $250 economic recovery payments to people who receive Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits beginning in early May 2009 and continuing throughout the month. No action is required to get the payment, which will be sent separately from the person’s regular monthly payment.

"The Social Security Administration and Commissioner Astrue have been working closely with other federal agencies to get these payments out the door in record time and into the hands of folks who need it most," said Vice President Biden. "These are checks that will make a big difference in the lives of older Americans and people with disabilities - many of whom have been hit especially hard by the economic crisis that has swept across the country."

“We have been working diligently to issue the $250 one-time recovery payments as soon as possible,” Commissioner Astrue said. “The legislation requires extensive coordination with other federal agencies and I’m pleased we are on track to issue these recovery payments earlier than the statute requires. Soon more than $13 billion will be in the hands of more than 50 million Americans.”

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provides for a one-time payment of $250 to adult Social Security beneficiaries, and to SSI recipients, except those receiving Medicaid in care facilities. To receive the payment the individual must be eligible for Social Security or SSI during the months of November 2008, December 2008 or January 2009.

31. If she's on SS she should have gotten a notice from the SSA.
Hubby and I got one last week, saying the check was coming.

It will be direct deposited, like the SS checks, in our accounts.

Ask her to check her mail to see if she got a notification.

SS has been really good with this, IMO and in my experience.

24. Payments are staggered throughout May, all should be received
by June 4. http://www.ssa.gov/

Miz O and I got our notification letters last month about the same time we normally get our SS deposited (two different deposits.) Most deposits are scheduled on one of the Wednesdays, depending on birth date, and also how long ago you began receiving payments.
