If Congress investigates Cheney and his involvement in torture ... |
|
... and the CIA nondisclosure to Pelosi, would it prevent Congress from doing anything else?
Would it slow the confirmation of the newest Supreme Court justice? Would it delay single-payer healthcare?
Are the GOPers trying to cram the big torture issue onto Congress' already crowded plate in the hopes of blocking all other work?

3. How could the GOP No'pers be any more obstructive than they already are? |
|
I just don't think interferring with the deals cut between Big Insurance/Investment and the Obama administration is anyting that needs to be fretted about.

5. It's time to shake off fear of coming out. |
|
If the US is to move to a psychological place that promotes life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, being cowed by fear is a hurdle to get past.
The GOP has nothing but NO. Whether or not there is an authentic independent investigation of how the US got into the torture business their answer to everything will be NO.
There is no additional domestic political damage possible. There is only an outside chance that international relationships and respect for the US can be regained.
