2. I watched her on Larry King |
|
the other night.
There's something dissonant about her. I feel so sorry for her. But, something's not connecting, something that's frightening her. I'm not sure, but I think the worst news she could hear right now - and the woman has heard far too much bad news - is that the baby is her husband's. I think that would shatter her.
Who wouldn't it shatter?
I got the sense that she'd rather now know. Who could blame her?

She's given John lots of leeway. They've been married for a long time, he screwed up, they have a huge history and kids, give him a break.
I still don't get this book.
Could she be doing this for a book?

4. The book is the excuse ....... |
|
I think she's so enraged, she wants revenge and the only way she can get it - as she sees it - is to humiliate him even more in the most public way possible.
Her explanation of why she wrote this book, why she brought all this stuff to the fore after it had died down and was no longer news, doesn't hold water for me - that she wanted her children to know her side of the story. Well, you could have written it all out for them and tucked it on a shelf where they can read it when they're older.
Instead, she's gone the public route. Clearly, money is not a consideration, since they're financially quite well off. But, I think she's had to deal with this more than once in her married life, and now that she's terminal, I think she just doesn't give a fuck and wants to bury him as deep as she can.
The woman is clearly distressed and troubled, bearing not just the burden of a terminal illness, but the results of her husband's very public betrayal of her. The dissonance I sensed about her is how she keeps blaming "the other woman" - to the point of not even allowing interviewers to use her name - and referring to that child as "it." That's hardly a sign of a woman who's made any kind of peace with what happened.
She's a woman locked in fury, and she has my pity. I can't imagine who would want to read that book.........
