Looks like health care reform will be about protecting the insurance companies |
|
You would hope it would be about making sure all Americans have health care coverage. So something like single payer would be an option worth looking at. But it seems the main priority that is at work in Congress is to make sure the insurance companies survive with as little harm to their bottom line as possible. It's still their country, we just have to live in it.

4. Give me a candidate in the next election |
|
who supports single payer and I will throw every fucking incumbent who fails to make that same commitment under the bus. Every damn one of the spineless bought and paid for selfish bastards. I have no loyalties or obligation to advance the cause of those who do not serve my interests.

Sadly, Dennis Kucinich was thrown under the bus long before the others were.

Had I had the choice in the primaries I would have voted for Kucinich. My only choice was between Hillary and Obama. There were other candidates - including Kucinish - that I preferred over either of them.
Sometimes I really wish we had a national primary day. No reason why my vote shouldn't have as much value as a vote in Iowa or New Hampshire. But apparently it doesn't.
Kucinich is one Dem leader for whom I some respect. Can't say so much for most of the others.

10. You understand that such a candidate *WON'T* be acceptable here at DU or amidst the rest of... |

...the DLC crowd, right? You'll be accused of being a "Naderite" or something equally nasty. And, indeed, it's likely that such a candidate *WON'T* be a Democrat.
