When Congress returns, it's going to be an all out, bare knuckles brawl
between Congress and the White House. That's not hopeful thinking, it's already been set up, and you can see the words are intensifying.

bushco will veto the Supplemental, and today was just a taste of the shit he's going to spew. The dems are going to accuse him of everything from being a failure and misleading the American people to being out of touch.

In the Senate, if Gonzo makes it to the 17th, there will be major fireworks in the Judiciary Committee Hearing. The dems will methodically take him apart, using Sampson's testimony. If he resigns before then, the dems will use that to make the case that the Justice Department is corrupt as well as being hopelessly inept.

And that's just for starters.

1. Looks like it..
Pelosi's trip to the Middle East was nothing short of brilliant IMO as well.

Bush is NOT up to the task, Cheney might be, but I think his health is really failing. At any rate, I'm strapping on my seat belt.

4. Some of the hardline GOPers, after two weeks at home, might soften up
I'm thinking of brainless Repugs whose districts have changed on Iraq. Folks like Joe Knollenberg in Oakland County, MI.

6. I'm stocking up on popcorn
However I doubt that the Gonzales hearing will ever take place. even the dumshits in the WH realize that there is to much at stake for them to allow this twerp to talk under oath to an adversarial senate committee. He will suddenly decide to spend more time with his family before then. The war funding debate should be real fun though. It's beginning to dawn on the senate and house dems that most of America agrees with them on Iraq. I think there will be some surprises from the other side of the aisle because the pubs have known for some time which way the wind is blowing.

12. But Gonzo is Bush's boy
I don't think Bush is going to let go. Without Gonzo.. Bush probably wouldn't have even won the TX governorship.
I really think Bush is just that stubborn. The only way Gonzales leaves is job is if he resigns and I think he's just as dumb as Bush.
Should be fun to watch though!

9. Bush was spewing the same type of venom before the election in
November and the people didn't buy it then. Bush has no credibility. Everybody knows he's lying.

11. He's bluffing Hubert.
Remember all that political capital he got in the 2004 election? He lost that a long time ago and he's playing on house credit. He's sitting on a busted straight and thinks he's going to scare the Democrats into folding with full house. He can't win, he can only decide how much more debt he wants to wager before he gets called.

The troops are just numbers on paper to the chickenhawks.

Why wouldn't...the American people Hate Bush? List those reasons...

13. They should IMPEACH him AND Cheney...immediately upon return.
Their threats must be answered. We should either cut funds or IMPEACH. I choose IMPEACH and then bring our troops home.

Have a Prez and VP ever been Impeached together? We could make history.

15. Bushco are due for a day of reckoning
They are fighting with both barrels at this moment, full out all they have. It's April of 2007- 20+ months left of the admin (at most). The Democrats have so much more ammo, the investigations have just begun. The Bushies have no where to go and their positions will just become weaker over time. How many times can they complain about subpoenas and threaten Vetos? By the 2nd, 3rd time it will have as much meaning as a 2 year olds tantrum and be just as pointless.
