I don't think it's a Rovian trick. Her views are quite a bit like a lot of Republicans I know. Totally misguided in their "fiscal conservativism" but actually quite socially liberal.

John's daddy in law was able to buy him the seat the first time, and I think the seat is held by a Dem. Her home district would be Central Phx, usually a red seat, maybe always, so maybe.

do well to spend some time in the House if she's interested in politics. I think the people of AZ could do a lot worse, even though she plays for the wrong team.

The way the system is, now, it's better to have a stinking, stinking, STINKING rich representative--and she is stinking rich. They're less likely to cheat and steal, because they're already rich as ten Roosevelts!

Although I wouldn't rule out Jon Huntsman, either. He's quite intelligent, practical, and moderate for a Republican. I'm pretty pissed that he's been tapped to be the ambassador to China. Frankly, a decent moderate Republican was the best Utah could hope for in a Governor and I hate to lose him.

8. Conservatives are doing their best to kick her out of the GOP. The purification

process is under way now. They want McCain out and to take his daughter with him which is such a mature and smart way to grow their party. I hope they continue with their crusade to banish anyone who isn't a true believer according to their litmus tests. Megan isn't going to fit but we'll welcome her.

..but there's just not very many of them.

Also, she lost me a bit when she said the Republican party is just as nice for gay people as the Democratic party. Granted the D's haven't exactly been perfect on gay issues, but I can't imagine how anything could be as bad as the Republican party..
