and then they showed that awful film,
and it just spoiled everything.

- Hermann Goering
at Nuremberg

So, Dick Cheney doesn't want the latest batch of detainee-abuse photos released.

Huh - I wonder why?

This is a comprehensive and compelling Kos Diary that ties together many points that have discussed in disparate threads here.

3. We're gonna wipe that smirk right off of his face
Rove's superior smirk is the one I most want to see erased. The Dick will still be able to practice his scowl no matter where he ends up.

6. I posted it last night too but got no comments on it.
Listen up, people! This is a very serious look at a very serious subject and well worth the read. I suggest instead of smart-assed comments you go and get yourselves educated BEFORE you make a comment..then see if what you were going to say matches what you think AFTER you read it.

16. It is some great writing and ties it all together brilliantly.
And it's so relevant to so many discussions we have been having here over the last week.

I hope as many people as possible read it.

18. This quote from Herman Goering could have been spoken by Dick Cheney:
"Why, of course, the people don't want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece?

Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship . . .

he people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

Chilling. Absolutely chilling. The Bush Administration thugs needs to be brought to justice.
