2. when you volunteer for the military you are making a deal
you will serve and put your ass on the line and your Commanders (esp the C-I-C) won't waste you for petty BS reasons based on lies

it's criminal

3. This is too easy
1. Why don't YOU volunteer?

2. If they want to be there, then it must not be too bad. So why don't YOU volunteer to go over there?

3. What didn't you get about it when his name was Clinton? And when are YOU going to enlist?

4. Yeah I'm hearing that a lot
Another one that they are sort of phasing out is "Congress has the power to defund the war, nobodies questioning that, but they don't want to"

I guess because there's an increasing possibility we might actually do it.

Í usually hear one and two combined into..
"The troops volunteered to be there". To which my response is "No they volunteered to "serve protect their country..which they cannot do if they are in Iraq"

I respond to # three with "What part of checks and balances don't YOU get?"

6. Sounds like new talking points were distributed.
This is a very organized thing. That's why new memes seem to pop up everywhere at once.

7. I've been hearing the "They volutneered" line for a while,
Even from freepers claiming to be veterans, big on Dems don't support/hate the troops, bla bla bla. But for "veterans", they're strangely lacking in compassion for those in this position.

8. When a CinC gets his troops killed and fails to achieve objectives ...
... then he should be replaced just like any commander in the field who fails that way. He's had FOUR YEARS to achieve an objective that HE HIMSELF (and his subordinates) predicted would take SIX MONTHS! Next?

9. Not every single one of the troops is a Republican
Much as the freepers would like that to be so, it is not.

They are not fighting for the Republican cause. They are supposed to be fighting for the U.S. Not just the Republican party. What part of that don't the freepers get?

... why don't they send to Iraq only those soldiers who explicitly volunteer to go to Iraq?
