We seem to find all the things he has done that has made us unhappy, but there must be something we can brag about that he has done besides just giving good speeches.

2. That's pretty cool!
Honestly, I think he's overall doing a good job, even despite some of the setbacks and let downs.

It could be worse: it could be McCain/Palin.

5. I'm stunned that the 1st response to the question WASN'T a post telling the OP to stfu or "yawn"
That it was actually a USEFUL and INFORMATIVE response. Without sneering at the poster too! Congratulations, you get a cookie.

8. I thought the stimulus bill blew
(lightweight and tax cut heavy in the name of "bipartisanship")

Stem cell research was good.

9. I see it's time to pull the plant up again to see how the roots are growing
I think he's doing a pretty good job on not only restoring our image abroad, but actually changing it for the better. Doesn't it blow you away that he went to Egypt and spoke in a Mosque directly to the Muslim people and was treated with the same respect he extended to them? The last time a US President was in the Middle East he had shoes thrown at him and that was just last December. And after the Somali pirate incident I strongly suspect he's very involved behind the scenes in negotiations with North Korea regarding the sentencing of the women journalists, Laura Ling and Euna Lee.

We're all disappointed about DADT and his lack of official support for equal gay rights. It looks like these rights are the last frontier to conquer regarding our equal rights in this country. The gay be-very-afraid issue wedge has given the Republicans way too much power all along, especially during election times which is why the Right and the Christian Right are holding on to it for dear life. It's their ever dependable trump card to pull out whenever it's needed. It has probably garnered more votes and brought out more voters than anything else except the abortion issue.

And the decisions he's made about the torture memos and photos leaves me scratching my head since he's a Constitutional Expert. So my feeling is that there's a whole lot behind the scenes we don't know about, but we're seeing the results of whatever it is. I strongly suspect the CIA is deeply involved in National and International illegal activities and has been for decades. Deadly activities too.

10. Using your link, Obama is doing awesome and far ahead of schedule.
Edited on Sun Jun-14-09 09:24 AM by Peacetrain
You are saying he has used up 10% of his time on a 4 year term, the first 5% of that time was just getting the government set up to run. Things are not ready from day one.

But using your reference site. Obama made approx. 515 promises. In his 10% of time alloted by your op, he has kept 30 promises, 8 compromised, 10 stalled, 65 in the works.

Now 396 have not had action yet, and 6 were broken. Using just those numbers and counting the broken ones in with the 396 in no action, so he does not even get credit for addressing it one way or another..The President has taken action on 22% or his promises.

In 10% of the time, of a 4 year cycle (which if he gets re-elected he can sleep through that 4 years?? ) including setting up his government he has been able to take action on 22 % of his promises.

Exactly what is your complaint?

Edit to add.. doing this in my head, I am thinking he is closer to 12% of his first four year cycle.

That was good. The rest, however, is silence.
