Edited on Mon Jun-29-09 11:26 AM by peaches2003
What the hell is MSNBC thinking? This is supposed to be a cable NEWS station discussing POLITICS. I feel like this new Dr. Nancy Show is the 4th hour of the Today Show and going to tell me what is the best toothpaste to use! Has MSNBC lost its mind? They lose me as a viewer all weekend and now they are doing their best to crash their ratings during the week, too.

2. TV is little more than an animated version of people Magazine
Poor Dr Nancy is very uneasy with the earpiece, isn't she.. She had not mastered the technique of talking and listening at the same time:)

5. Terrible decision. This show is horrible. You can barely hear the lady
Edited on Mon Jun-29-09 11:33 AM by Thrill
and she looks uncomfortable doing the show. I give it two weeks. They give this person a show when there is talent like TYT out there.

Nice start with Dylan Radigan's show. And then this flop. I miss Contesa.

6. I always avoid shows that use "Dr." or "Judge" followed by a first name...
"Judge Judy"
"Dr. Nancy"
"Officer Mike"
etc.

I feel it's a little too "Romper Room" for me...

7. And 2 hoiurs of screaming Dylan Ratigan
Ugh, too much yelling and screaming and talking over everyone that early in the morning -- or anytime! And the new graphic look with banners top and bottom of screen. How the hell is a person supposed to see the main screen? MSNBC took a turn for the worse!

10. Sorry.. I thought the Ratigan show was interesting. . . Dr. Dean, Lawrence O'Donnell
Elliot Spitzer.. a few new angles on old stories. I liked it. I would have liked it better at one hour, but it's not a bad show.

11. I think their new graphics are less intrusive.
That was an improvement, although not as showy as the old one.

18. You're not SUPPOSED to be able to concentrate on the main screen, melbel8301. If you were able to
Edited on Mon Jun-29-09 12:20 PM by bertman
concentrate you might see through the b.s. or maybe even--longshot--learn something of value. The banners are there as distractions. Another sensory overload brought to you by our corporate media overlords.

12. Have they started broadcasting in HD yet?
Wasn't today the day that MSNBC in HD was reported to happen? I checked our TV and so far, Comcast does not have it available. I'll call them later and see if it's going to be part of their HD lineup.

15. She was on Morning Joe and I was shocked
by her discussion concerning Michael Jackson's doctor. She might have valid points about his treatment of Jackson. However, at this point, her tirade was pure speculation. It was really tabloid material. She was harshly critical of the doctor without supplying any factual information. She just seemed to belong on another network, Faux News or E!, maybe.
Even on Morning Joe, which is hardly a hard hitting news program, she seemed to hit a false note with her sensationalistic, shrill tone.
Couldn't they find something better?

16. Gave a very unprofessional criticism of MJ's doc
I am NOT defending MJ's doc and I have no doubt he is a Dr. Feelgood. However, he has been raked over the coals for giving CPR to MJ in his bed. Yes, the layman learning CPR is told to do it on a floor or other hard surface. While in theory this is true, you can put something firm behind the back of a patient while in bed instead of putting him on the floor. In an article today the doctor did say he had put his other hand behind MJ's back to give firmness behind the chest. Did he really do this? I don't know.

My son is a cardiologist and I asked him about CPR. He said walk around a hospital and you'll never see a CPR patient taken from his bed and put on the floor. You can make the bed location firm enough behind the patient's back to do CPR and no cardiologist or internist would take a patient from his bed and put him on the floor.

Dr. Nancy was screeching like a banshee this morning on her show about the bed/floor thing just to be sensationalistic OR she doesn't know what the hell she is talking about. Two weeks is too long for this show to remain on the air!!!

20. Very interesting info, Peaches. Like you, I'm not
taking the side of Jackson's doctor. I just feel it was totally unprofessional for Dr. Nancy, at this point, to make such vehement declarations regarding Jackson's medical care. It was real shoot from the hip stuff. And I felt it was below MSNBC.

17. It's the new APPOINTMENT TV on MSNBC!
They've been shilling this on Morning Joe for a couple of weeks. They've revamped their morning lineup, one that you JUST HAVE TO CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULE FOR! Joe from 6-9; Dylan Ratigan (whoever the hell he is) from 9-12, and Dr. Nancy at noon.

(Don't mean to channel Billy Mays, but that's how the voice-over on the commercial sounds.)
