You have got to see this: Teabaggers July 4th
As 'Tea Parties' lose steam, fringe conspiracists step up to the fore

If it wasn't already obvious that the right-wingers who organized the Tax Day Tea Parties vastly overstated their actual significance -- except as a harbinger of the slide towards right-wing populism -- then this past weekend should lay any doubts to rest.

Even before the holiday weekend, it was clear that the planned 2nd edition of the Tea Tantrums Parties was going to be somewhat less than energetic. David Weigel at the Washington Independent observed that a lot of this had to do with mainstream support peeling away:

1. I can't even stand to listen to this shit.
Seriously, I made it up to "the bedrock of the Constitution is Biblical law". Jerry Falwell invented that turd, and it's has spread virally with the assistance of Free Republic and World Net Daily. I think Pat Robertson has also promoted the idea. If the US Constitution is based in Biblical Law, ie the commandments, then why doesn't the US Constitution reflect ANY of those laws? There are no dietary laws in the Constitution. You are not ordered to worship the One True God (ignoring the other gods a wording I always found amusing), the Constitution doesn't even prohibit lying, stealing, fornicating, or murder. It certainly doesn't instruct us to honor our parents, since we had just told our mother country to fuck off, and in the same vein we had just decided not to render unto Caesar that which was Caesar's.

Is there another word for these people than stupid? Is it possible to be fully functional and otherwise intelligent and still be such a dumbass? Isn't that some kind of mental disability or something?

6. It is funny isn't....
No a single mention of jebus or xtianity or even God can be found in the Constitution and yet, they still persist with what they think it is rather then what it really is.

If it were true, as they profess, then those documents would state it clearly and be obvious.

You can have a room fully of those idiots and the IQ of the entire room would not reach 30.

7. only they know what the founding fathers were thinking when they founded this country ...
despite the fact that existing correspondence shows exactly what they were thinking ...

and the fact that these people had been dead for a couple of centuries before the people who claim they know what they were thinking were born ...

3. They had the sidewalk's worth of 4 blocks cordoned of in midtown (NYC) on Wednesday.
There was only a half a block worth of people that showed up. And that's only a sidewalks width. losers

4. Grand Old -- I mean Tea Party -- farce
They are hypocrites. They failed to complain when Dubya was throwing tax money away on wars for his glorification. To them, Obama deficits are horrible but those under Dubya are A-OK. Thus Big Government is OK if it is their Big Government but not if it is someone else's.

10. They refuse to acknowledge that this Big Government IS THEIR Big Government
They are the ones who gave us two ridiculously expensive wars which we can't seem to end or get out of, the Patriot Act, the Department of Homeland Security, "Heck of a job, Brownie" FEMA, etc.

Do they really think that no one remembers where all this shit came from?

5. Evem though I like your perversion of teabaggers to Tea Tantrums
I still prefer the perversion they came up with all themselves - Teabaggers. The amazing thing is that they didn't change it when we told them what it meant. Hilarious.

8. The Wheel Continue To Come Off
It gotta be tough being a rushpublican...no matter where you look things are going to shits. Be it the horror of Democrats in total control of the Federal to the endless scandals and infighting in their own coven. The more this party lives in its paralell universe it will become more and more irrelevant and with that decent the number of "true believers" will decrease, too. Remember, rushpublicans are selfish...losing doesn't fit well on them...thus the more they lose, the more will give up or fade into the weeds.

Sucks to be them...and may they keep sucking for years to come...for the sake of what's left of this country...

9. And we know the ultimate insult
that no doubt infuriates and keeps these folks up at night is a black family occupying the White House.

11. That's what really brought it home to them that they're marginalized
Edited on Tue Jul-07-09 07:20 AM by lunatica
and irrelevant. It must be hard to take to realize your race isn't automatically superior anymore. That's all they had going for them in the long run. The absolute certainty that no other race is equal and never will be to even to the most abysmally stupid white person.

Reality sucks.
