10. Blanket's not his official name but it's what he was called more often than not.
But if Frank Zappa's kids can outlive "Moon Unit" and Dweezil I guess it's possible to outlive "Blanket."

15. I can somehow accept "moon unit" and "dweezil", Blanket is like naming your kid Lamp.
meh, to each his own, I guess.

11. Afghan was too misleading while Throw Rug was deemed abusive.
I'm freaked that Fran Drescher's the mom. }(

5. Are they actually going to have the body there?
And am I the only one who thinks this is a VERY bad idea?

7. Reports are they will, and the whole thing is a terrible idea
The government of LA and California can little afford the cost of handling this circus.

Never mind though, there is a buck to be made of a dead celebrity.

8. Jesus.
This whole thing disgusts me.

I could buy off on having his body transported from the hospital to the morgue at city expense. But not this.

The crowds are orderly now -- but that's no guarantee that they will stay that way once they see the casket -- or the body.

Clusterfuck waiting to happen, IMO.

12. I really don't get it. I could understand the atmosphere if he was alive and giving a concert
But a funeral?

CNN had a woman on yesterday who won a ticket to the ceremonies in a raffle. You'd have thought she won a lottery that would allow her to retire and comfortably "live off the interest" for life given the level of excitement she had going on.

I can acknowledge the impact MJ had on music/entertainment and enjoy his music without going to the extremes currently shown on display in LA.

13. It's fitting considering MJ's obsession with PT Barnum.
Freak show to the end.

14. Okay...did I just hear this right?
From MSNBC -- the crowd DOES NOT KNOW the hearse is coming. WTF????? It's rumored, but according to someone they just interviewed, nobody there knows for sure.

Oh. My. God. I hope they have a secret underground entrance to Staples. As I just wrote on another thread, I'm sure that for many seeing his body/casket will be the first, tangible proof that he's dead. Some will not handle that well.

And yes, I am thoroughly disgusted with the concert atmosphere this has taken on. CNN had another younger couple on and the woman was positively giddy. This is supposed to be a memorial, for Chrissakes. I could see having something like a tribute concert in another few weeks or something, but this is just sheer exploitation.
