Watching the MJ Memorial coverage and something stood out.
I was watching the fans at the Staples Center ~~ what a cross section of people. All colors, all styles, all ages, male and female. Some sober and somber, some coming to celebrate what he gave to them.

Rather amazing to see how his appeal appears to have cut across all lines.

BTW: Another amazing thing ~~ going from Encino (Jackson Family Home) to Forest Lawn, one travels towards L.A. on the 101. No traffic. They must have closed the on ramps. But...the traffic going the other way was heavy. I rarely do that communte anymore but do recall that it could get really gridlocked ~~ particularly where the 405 crosses the 101 ~~ so very odd to see just the black cars heading toward L.A. with no traffic. Note: I assume that they took the 101 from Encino east and then the 134 towards Burbank to get to Forest Lawn.

2. They should contribute something.
I do believe that it is usually off-duty motorcycle officers who provide escort for funerals. They are paid by the mortuary ~~ who in turn is paid by the family as a part of the cost of the funeral service.

I do not see why this should be treated any differently. But for the memorial service/funeral, there would have been no need for crowd control. Also: The promoter of the tour is gonna make a fortune off of any video of this ~~ there should be a contribution from this source, too.
