Attention; the days news has been cancelled by the Main stream media |
|
There will be no news today except wall to wall coverage of where on the freeway; the limosines are; that will be attending Michael Jackson's funeral. "The limosine is now turning left" or "The limosine is now turning right" Close up of the limosine. From then on its Michael Jackson Michael Jackson Michael Jackson; in spite of the fact that half the country couldn't care less.

MTV and VH1 are covering it until 2:30. CNN is covering it until 4. Fox until 3. MSNBC -- my cable schedule doesn't say, but I suspect they'll be with it until 3 or 4 as well.
Uh...should the MUSIC channels have wall-to-wall coverage of this?

6. A Footnote in Musical History |
|
This guy was eighty percent a marketing and media creation -- his circus funeral is just more of the same.
Let's face it, CNN, MSNBC, GE, Disney are mostly in the entertainment business, news is a sideline. So, naturally they all will cover the big festival.
But, in the end, Michael Jackson will be a footnote in U.S. musical history when compared to the likes of Louis Armstrong, Chuck Berry, Nat King Cole, Little Richard, Sammy Davis, Jr., etc.
So, when all is said and done, the reality-based world will have the last snicker at M.J. and the excesses of corporate media.

7. Most people would rather watch MJ than other news because MJ |
|
entertained people and nothing is more important in our society than entertainment, except perhaps for an overall feeling of safety.

9. Yea I know. CNN has MJ coverage on their schedule till 4PM, and |
|
MSNBC has it till 5PM.
I loved MJ's music, but I have a problem with w to w coverage of ANY STORY! The media did the same thing with Reagan, Princess Di, Katrina, and every other story they think will take up time.
