We run from truth and SPIT on a Golden Grave, pretending not to care, scared to be alive
Easier to mock than reflect, consider any impact
Cultural or personal, historic or individual,
To the passing of a person of such
Non/Importance
That the survivors of Climate Change
Will wonder if he was Egyptian.

Dying, dying a celebrity death, by someone who had already died
And risen from his own ashes
Spread those pale ashes on his dark skin.........

Cutting -- forget moonwalking -- the Artist Formerly Known As Alive
Invented cutting, scarification, branding of oneself as a commodity,
A living logo, a strutting "corporate person"
With a high high voice
Grabbing his crotch.

Mockery became the zeitgeist -- what else could it be with clowns and liars as public figures.
How else to deal with language intended to obfuscate, to crazy make, to mind fuck, to shockandawe.
His friends President Pretend and VioletEyes ActressIcon escorted him to his Land of Oz.
His record sales were off the charts.

Crazy hip cool hypocritical hiding behind surgical masks cutting off our nose to spite our face grabbing our crotch
Inventing the Neverland of our dreams riding private Ferris Wheels into oblivion
Each of us in our hideaways of helplessness
Spinning straw into gold and throwing stones
Out the tower window across the moat.

Hell, we ARE Michael Jackson.

that, and this fucking hero worship for a talentless pedophile, and you just can't get away from it anywhere you go.

3. OMFG at least have the decency to put his name in the title so I can hide it
without having to waste the time finding out that it is yet another fucking MJ waste.

15. I am a lousy writer
I slept through english class to many times. It is kind of like music I have a good ear but I can't play I especially like piano. You must enjoy writing. It is a gift to express yourself that way.

a rhythm thing, to which I can largely thank black music I grew up with, including MJ's, growing up in diverse communities, exposed to the rhythms of diverse cultures and accents. As well as white "gift o' gab" blood.

There is a poem up on DU that Maya Angelou spoke today -- it's okay. What's most striking in reading it (I did not see in on TV or hear it) is that I hear the poet's voice as I read the words, I am fa mil i ar with her ca- dence and em phas is.................

So if we
each

we might have a note
worth tossin cross the moat.

16. OK, now you've gone and made me actually read it.
I'm not very knowledgeable, or a fan of, poetry but that seems pretty good to me.

I still never liked his music much and he was a pedophile, but he was the best at what he did.

IMHO that IS the BEST of DU :yourock: I did NOT come for an echo chamber, I love the notion we can hear -- or even learn :wow: from -- each other.

Thank you so much.

delicious coffee. My dog is happy. The birds are chirping. The kitties are snoozing. The deer ate all the corn out of the bowl we put out for them.

I'm going on. Happily.

You too!!

Cheers.
