At least that's what Republicans, Joe Lieberman, and some Democrats are saying.
Student loan companies compete with the government giving out grants and aid to students. The student loan companies aren't all gone. UPS and FedEx compete with the postal service. Last time I checked those two corporations are still around. And there are other examples as well.
Competing with the government actually seems to be a pretty normal thing in this country, why can't the health insurance companies do it as well?

was that private industry could do it better, faster, and cheaper than the government. So why are they scared?
