I want to watch some heads explode
I really, really want either the Jackson family or the Jackson estate to sue Pete King (R, Fuckwad) for slander and defamation. This is the man who came out and stated flat out that Michael was a pervert and pedophile.

The reason that I want this to happen isn't because I'm particularly fond of MJ, I think he had great talent, and great problems. No, no, I want to watch some heads explode around here. I honestly think that some people simply couldn't handle the concept of such a lawsuit, since on the one hand a win would put a Republican in some deep shit, while a loss would vindicate their own personal view of MJ and his life.

Yes, I'm looking for some entertainment, what about you?

1. Thankfully, I have better things to do and better things to think about
What should I do with all the basil in the kitchen garden? Should I move the thyme patch? Should I make a walnut torte or a raspberry tart?

4. Well, I can provide the raspberries, they're just now starting to ripen
So I say the raspberry tart.

This isn't a thought I've devoted a lot of time to, something that just came to me as I mowed the yard yesterday.

6. OK, raspberry tart it is!
you lucky duck, you. I don't have any raspberries growing, but I have fond memories of my dad's spectacular raspberry patch. He was close to obsessive about it. We had so many raspberries that we actually had enough for preserves and to freeze- and that was after scarfing down gallons of them. Good luck with yours.

7. The raspberries are doing OK, but the blackberries are coming in by the bucketful
Thanks to the massive quantities of rain we've had, which blackberries just love. However the veggie garden isn't doing so hot, due to the rain. The potatoes flooded and died, the peppers and tomatoes are stunted, and the deer got to the corn. Good thing is that we're supposed to be sunny and dry until the weekend. After a foot of rain in two weeks, we need it.

Hope your garden and growing is doing well.

2. Peter King is pure, concentrated evil.
Flowers wilt & die when he walks by, and he bleeds acid.

15. Actually, this is the first thing about which I've ever agreed with him.
MJ never did anything but accumulate wealth and debt. There are people in the world really making a difference, who go unnoticed. That's a shame.

3. Are you blind? Heads are already exploding.
LOL Nothing anybody here can do or say will diminish Jackson. LOL

The more his popularity grows, the more bitter and angry his detractors become. Thus the endless threads about what a bad guy he was.

5. True, but a lawsuit would pit two opposite, but equal impulses in one person
I think some folks would just shut down from the overload.

8. Revenge Is Best Served Cold
First...while King is an asshat first class, he, like Jackson are public figures and thus anything goes. The other night I scanned across a hate radio station doing the happy dance with King's ignorant and insensetive comments...and these are the ears he wanted to reach...the ones who will now send in money to fund what he hopes will be a run for the Senate. It was calculated to create a shitstorm and the more attention people pay to the remark, the more it plays, the more he'll try to milk it with his right wing suckers...err contributors.

I like those who are using King's verbal excrement to raise money to beat his sorry ass...make sure he not only doesn't win a Senate seat but loses his House one. Wanna see heads explode? It'd be a pleasure to donate to any opponent of King and watch the rushpublicans lose ther remaining House seats in the Northeast.

We've been getting plenty of entertainment from the GOOPers...in total meltdown with no signs of turning things around any time soon. When you're enemies are busy destroying themselves, just stand back and enjoy the show.

10. Yeah, but you really can't come out on the national media and call somebody a pedophile,
Especially when they've been found innocent in a court of law. I think that are some serious grounds for a slander case.

11. Sure You Can...And They Do
Again...that's the risks one runs in a society where we hold the First Ammendment as supreme. Also Jackson was/is a public figure...trying to sue for defamation is all but impossible. It's like those on the left who call booooosh and cheney war criminals (like I do)...while it hasn't been proven, I still appreciate the right to call them such.

King's remarks were tasteless...and to keep harping on it only gives this shitstain the PR he is hoping for.

12. Not guilty does not = innocent. Remember OJ?
And being a public figure Rep. King can say MJ is a pedophile if he wishes. As can I. Micheal Jackson was a child molesting freak. Sue Me.

14. It's official. The media have created a Girardian mob around
the worship of Michael Jackson, and Peter King is the sacrificial scapegoat. None of this is about personalities--not about how wonderful MJ was (he wasn't), or how direspectful King was (he wasn't, either). It's about competing desires for attention and coveraage, and the Jackson worshippers have been whipped into a frenzy by the media. It's been an interesting case study in Girardian anthropology. I wish I'd known King was about to walk in front of the juggernaut, because I would've warned him how it would go.

There is something really scary about people who can be so easily led by the media as the MJ worshippers have been. If they can do it with this irrelevant man, they can do it with anything.

18. This whole event has been right out of the pages of Rene Girard's
work on mimetic anthropology. It's an important lesson as to how a mob mentality is formed. It takes very little effort for the media to work a mob into a frenzy around a unifying personality, group identity, or event...and then to point out a scapegoat as the enemy of the mob. Just ask the people of Rwanda how this process works. Sadly, what we've learned in the last week is that the same potential exists in this nation.

19. They feel empowered by the RW Media Hatemongers.

Limbaugh and Hannity and all their colleagues spew this sort of thing all the time and so their Shittoheads get the idea that this is totallt acceptable public discourse. The lying and corrupt RW Media Hatemongers need their wings clipped IMHO.
