Bush library to display Saddam gun trophy
Bush is keeping the dried ear necklace for himself.

George W. Bush kept a special memento of his presidency: a gun found with Saddam Hussein when the former Iraqi leader was dragged out of a spider hole near Tikrit in 2003. Bush is expected to give the 9 mm Glock 18C, right, to his presidential library, which is due to open in 2013.

This is a caption from an AP photo. (I don't have a link.)

4. What a tough guy.
Let's see, bushboy, how many lives did it cost to get that gun? Just to stroke your villianous ego?

8. I posted the story last week and am too lazy to look for the link to my own thread, but...
...just as the caption you have here says "Bush is expected to...," the story didn;t "definitely" say he was going to do it, but that he was considering it.

It seems that there would be enough of a public outcry about this to prevent it from happening. In the thread I posted, a DUer replied with a quote from someone...don't remember who...who said that it was important for the gun to be in Bush's library because it was "symbolic of Bush personally taking down Saddam."

Which is exactly why he wants it in his lie-berry.

12. I heard on a radio show that it's going to be the CENTERPIECE of the library
And let's face it, what else can he possibly put in that people will want to see?

Now, if there were a pretzel bag on display, I might go.

9. Congrats asshole...a war souvenir from the kind of war you didn't have the balls to fight in.
But had the connections to keep out of and power to get other people in.

10. I think John Dillinger's gun is
up for sale/auction/give-away or something. Maybe the Chimp can start a collection.

11. And when we pull out of Iraq and the whole thing goes up in flames
it will be a testament to his colossal failure. 5000 American lives, an unknown number of Iraqi dead possibly over a million and $2 trillion dollars for one glock trophy pistol.

13. Somehow I seriously doubt Doofus
or his library has gone through the necessary steps to own a Class III weapon. The Glock 18/18C is capable of firing full auto. It falls under the NFA.
