Health insurance apologists are like candlemakers railing against electricity. |
|
Candles have worked for thousands of years. So what if some other system is brighter, cleaner, more efficient? Candles have been our uniquely American way of lighting our houses for years.
Perhaps we could have a system that triggers building an electrical grid if too many more houses get set on fire by candles. Or, we could also have state candle buying co-ops to give Americans better access to less expensive candles. We can't afford an electrical grid! The government would have to get involved with an electrical grid!
There comes a time when one has to acknowledge that there is a better option than the one in place and that to deny it is lunacy.

3. Your analogy would only work if the candles didn't ever light when you most needed them. |
