Thomas Voeckler of France claimed a solo victory Wednesday in the fifth stage of the Tour de France, a 122-mile ride from Le Cap d'Agde to Perpignan.

Following a long breakaway, Voeckler made his move 3.1 miles from the finish to escape from a small group of riders and cross the finish line by himself.

Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland retained the yellow leader's jersey. Seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong is second overall, by a fraction of a second, with Astana teammate Alberto Contador of Spain 19 seconds back in third.

3. Ahtlete's no...sexy organic cycling engines...yes
Riding up and down a 5000 ft mountain road twice then riding another 60-70 miles beyond with 70 MPH descents...then doing it the next day and the next day....no human being can do that.

These guys are aliens from the planet Cyclotron where gravity is twice ours.

I love The Tour....recording the tour to watch later.

One of the rare TV things I watch now. skip the commercials and blah blah blah....
