Which is most evil: Goldman Sachs, Halliburton, or General Electric? |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-08-09 11:58 PM by pilsner
Goldman Sachs-parasites engineering bubbles and busts.
Halliburton-Dick Cheney's old company made billions from Iraq. Moved to Dubai to evade taxes.
General Electric-pioneered the off-shoring of jobs to India under leadership of ex-CEO Jack Welch.

1. Halliburton. Organized, professional, highly-connected war profiteering trumps everything else |
|
The other two are just run of the mill business shenanigans that are inevitable in an underregulated market.

Evil is everywhere in american corporations, but at least GE makes things, things like wind turbines and very efficient jet engines. Welch has been gone for some time now and good riddance. Don't GE owns MSNBC, and allows the 8 and 9 time slots to represent us. GS is at the top with Halliburton a close second.

Moved to Dubai/Cayman Islands to get around the embargo against Iran.
Made numerous changes to task orders in Iraq, delaying the completion and increasing the costs. (While the recalibrating of the oil meters was being delayed, billions in oil was being smuggled out through the channels Saddam used during the Oil for Food campaign.)
Are the direct manifestation of cheney's id.
I could go on, but you get the idea.

Corporate Citizen. Imelt has publicly acknowledged that all of those involved in the decision to make America a Service Industry Country were wrong. With Mfg at only 10% of the economy, this country cannot be sustained. In other words a Service Economy cannot sustain this country. Too many people at too low wages. He is planning to put new jobs in this country. He says I would that the current state of country be viewed as my generations legacy.
Remember Congress permitted these conditions to develop with their policies and support of Wall Street.
I hate Corporatism as much as any one, but I also believe in fairness.
