check this exchange out..... some Glenn Beck fan posted a screed from someone named "Jerome Hudson" - an African-American "conservative" attending a community college in Florida describing how he felt ostracized by his other black friends for being a "conservative".

In the screed he links today's Republican Party as being the party that was and is responsible for every Civil Rights legislation - from the 13th Amendment up to the Civil Rights Acts of the 1960's....

It wasn't conservatives that agitated for and freed the slaves. They were liberals. The conservatives were the ones who got their ass kicked - The Confederacy.

The Republican Party of the age he describes would be unwelcome in the modern Republican Party. Those Republicans were not socially conservative, they were liberal. In fact, the Civil Rights Acts of the 1960's are what turned the traditionally racist southern Democrats into Republican conservatives.

Now here's a post to my response exactly as written......

First, these terms liberal and conservative cannot be adequately applied to this/these/those situations. It's way too simple-minded. It is worth noting that a rather large number of people are fully aware that American "liberals" first, harbor a deep fear of colored folk they can't bear to admit and second, essentially re-enslaved the whole race just as it began a monumental rise from centuries of degradation. Like they say: there was a War on Poverty and...we lost! I have what is now headed toward 50 years' observation and experience with this matter.
This is my PATENTED observation - just kidding - about this. There is nothing, no one, no country, no group ever in human history that has made such a stupendous effort to right an historical wrong as our people. Nothing, ever. And it mostly took place in a period under 50 years, here, in my lifetime. And know what you deaf, dumb, blind f...g "liberals" accomplished? - a huge majority of American blacks viscerally LOATHE white people! For the better-educated, it's a bitter animosity. For the large urban majority, it's free rein to commit violent crime, particularly sex crimes, at an astonishing, unbelievable rate, for 40-50 years. You brain dead liberals - even Malcolm X was filled with contempt for you - inevitably do the same thing when your absurd agendae fail: you try harder! Just curious: how many violent rapes, gang rapes as well, have you read or known about in your lifetime committed by whites against black women? And the reverse....? Every thinking person knows what you caused and continue to in race relations. Disagreement, Critical Judgement: the two major hate crimes for applesauce-for-brains liberals.
Last: Wikipedia is good for one thing only: a brief intro to any topic. Terrific for that. If you "source" it in any way, you're nuts. Everyone's an expert today in BlogWorld, but most are only half-bright. If I were a college prof. and saw this as a source on a paper, I'd give it a D-.
