Does Nancy Pelosi deserve an apology ?
It looks like that nancy Pelosi was actually correct in saying that the CIA was misleading Congress regarding the torture methods. Perhaps we jumped the gun in attacking Pelosi (myself included) and that was evidenced by her approval rating worse than Darth Cheney's. She may not be the most likable Congress person but in this one she was right. Are apologies in order?

4. What? DU Support Nancy Pelosi? Where Do You Think You Are?
I know the bitching has subsided as of late, but I still see those here who believe Pelosi can do no right...even going as far as saying she was complicit with the booosh regime crimes. Most of the noise died down when the Speaker finally stood up and has been pushing a Progressive agenda in the House. But still it's not good enough.

Expect an apology to Pelosi? And ruin a good punching bag? Heresy!

12. Just Look Back...
There were those...and no I'm not wasting the time to name names...a simple search here will turn up plenty of posts where Pelosi was accused of enabling the boooosh regime...willing to accept the bullshit that she knew about the torture and did nothing to stop it despite the fact she was neither Speaker of the House at the time and sworn to secrecy.

5. Let me be the first.
I didn't join in the Pelosi bashing sessions here or elsewhere, but didn't exactly believe her side of the story, either.

Edited on Thu Jul-09-09 11:32 AM by noamnety
Has she taken any action to hold the people who lied to congress accountable for perjury?

If she opts not to prosecute, then I am absolutely fine with transferring that accountability to her.

17. Pelosi owes us many, many apologies for policies that have done permanent damage.
I think there is much more important work for us than an apology for her being temporarily inconvenienced.

Nor am I yet convinced that she was "right" in this case, whatever that means.
