still looking for work...
just wanted a check in for all DUers still unemployed and looking for work, like me.

We're trying to sell our house so we can live on the tiny profit for a few months longer ... but so far no offers on the house.

sigh.

3. hang in there... I know I struggle with depression and frustration
my wife is making me take daily doses of St. John's Wort, which, in spite of my healthy skepticism, seems to actually help a little.
you might give it a try.

7. I have 3 jobs on the line
The bureaucracy of waiting to hear from each of them is agony. They all want to hire me, they're just waiting for the ok for funding.

9. Try fish oil.
My daughter suffers from chronic depression and takes 6 each day. They keep her off prozac. Very cheap at Costco.

6. Checking in..
See my post right above yours.

I'm starting to get some good response to my resume again, it started kicking in about 2 weeks ago. Seems like the stimulus might be working, if just a little bit.

8. 1.5 years and counting
I don't expect it to change soon either. Overeducated and underexperienced people get put at the end of the line.

10. All the more reason to implement single-payer
I read this may have actually saved the auto industry.

My heart goes out to everyone who is looking for work...a friend of mine just rented out a spare bedroom for $600/month. Would that be a (temporary) option?

11. I look off and on
When you get rejected by a gas station convenience store and dunkin' donuts, it's pretty hard to keep looking. And when you're mid-50s and overqualified and overeducated for everything, it truly sucks.

I'm trying to sell my house too, but there hasn't been a single showing since I put in on the market in early June.

Failing that, I'll be taking out private student loans to live on...I'm halfway through the med lab tech program. I would have been 3/4s of the way through if the advisor hadn't told me a string of blatant lies at the outset.
