Question- Should people be banned for using the unrec button?
How about, should they be banned for using the unrec button on a particularly sensitive topic?

Are there times when using the unrec feature is a prima facie case that someone is a disruptor?

Can people unrec'd for reasons other than disagreement with the topic in the OP? (Like sloppy fact use, formatting issues, weak argument, too many similar posts, beating a dead horse, PUI/PWI (Posting while/under the influence), questionable sourcing, old topic, excessive stupidity, locusts, etc, etc..)

Just thinking out loud, there seem to be some hurt people today.

1. No, should not be banned
Not any more than posting an opinion that disagrees with an OP. Try running this question as a DU poll, and see what the poll numbers say.

3. Had a case once where people were banned for voting yes in a poll.
So I could see it happening, in a very rare situation. I could also see the mods and admins--assuming they can see what a person recs and unrecs--using it to help determine someone's intention, if their intentions are already questioned.

14. It was justified. The poll was pretty stupid, too, with choices that were clearly not consonant
with the forum's purpose

6. I would eliminate the Unrec feature before I'd ban people for using it. What's
the point in introducing it if you're going to start banning people for using it? The logic of that is Palinesque.

7. People need to grow a thicker skin.
If they are so self righteous about a topic that they can't stand disagreement, maybe they shouldn't be on an internet forum.

9. Banning's too good for them
Restrict them to being able to post only in the gungeon. That'll teach 'em some manners. Okay, maybe not manners. All right, definitely not manners. But it'll teach them something, and that's all Jesus can ask of us.

10. No, because sometimes the clicky thing clicks the wrong word.
And there's no confirmation page to change your mind.

11. No. Banning because someone disagrees with you is groupthink.
Why not just have the mods tell us how/what to think and save the trouble.

Some people are just whiny I think.

13. That's because most of the people who like it aren't complaining.
