I don't really care the slightest about the greatest page, and therefore the whole rec, unrec controversy. But then I am at a place where I calmly gave my wife some bad news because my self-worth/image/esteem is at a point where I can take her response whatever it may be.

but that will wear off rather quickly I suspect. The rec/unrec only affects the Greatest page so the nuisance factor is quite limited overall, imo.

13. Since un-reccing can be done anonymously and since the total is not viewable, it will be...

...almost impossible for a person who is the victim of such behavior to identify they are and bring it to the Moderators' attention. Any group wishing to do this sort of thing against a poster or particular topic need only watch the thread, giving an unrec each time a rec is received, to keep the unrecs to a minimum while still achieving their desired result. It's typical to see a divisive thread where there are a very small number of actual posters involved- but a huge number of thread views. I believe this is, in part, for people "checking back" on a thread many times to see how things are "developing". In short, the above is not an unreasonable prediction of how this could and almost certainly will be abused.

When I say "anonymously", I mean to regular users, of course. All recs, poll votes and un-recs are available to be viewed by at least the Administrators.
