7. I'm toying with the idea of an unrec reply template
Edited on Thu Jul-09-09 09:12 PM by DireStrike
Something along the lines of:

I believe it is a positive contribution to the discourse here to inform a person when and why I have unreccommended their thread. Alas, This is one such thread. I do not feel your thread contributes to the discussion because it is (Hysterical and factless / Meaningless Fluff / A topic that I feel is not worth discussing / Poorly worded - please try again when you are sober.) Apologies, and good luck on future posts!

...too condescending?

14. I doubt it would happen
The posts I would unrec are likely to be fundamentally unfixable. The people who post them will likely be either irrational or not interested in my opinion. Or both. If someone managed to fix a post that I unrec'd, they'd probably post a reply to me, to which I would respond.

I mean if this tit for tat is going to be a real game, then we gotta play! }(

10. Hiding threads and ignoring who you dislike is for wimps.
(unless someone is stalking you on DU, then it is relatively easy to expose them and get them banned)

15. Other... I don't have a system.
I might hide it, or reply, or not reply... no hard and fast rule.

16. Nah, not usually.
I tend to use hide thread for the 14th thread on the same topic.

17. That would be a very good idea if implemented.
If the result of hitting the unrec button were that you couldn't post in that thread, people would use it a lot more judiciously, I think.
