Ban Still Enforced on GM Alfalfa (Monsanto)
Ban Still Enforced on GM Alfalfa

Alfalfa being the fourth-largest crop by acreage in the United States had been genetically modified by Monsanto 2005. In 2007 a Judge Breyer stopped the selling and planting of GM alfalfa seeds. Not too long afterwards, he ordered a complete Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on the genetically engineered crop. This was done due to the fact that the USDA violated the environmental laws by approving genetically engineered alfalfa without the EIS in 2005. In this three year old case, Monsanto has recently tried to appeal the ban placed on their Roundup Ready alfalfa and has been denied only until the federal government has finished its studies on the product and the ramifications it may pose on organic and conventional crops, the environment, and farmer's economic security. This is a huge win for consumers, farmers, and the public as a whole in regards to the protection of people's rights to choose the food that they consume and for farmers to grow the crop of their choice!

1. The way alfalfa is pollinated, it'll be damned difficult to not have cross pollination
thus saving seeds from any alfalfa crop will become a violation of Monsanto intellectual property.

7. I got good news today.
An activist in Calfiornia has gotten an anti-GMO stance placed into the policy planks of those who are Demcoratic candidates here in California.

We have a long way to go, but with this tidbit of news, I was able to smile a little!

TAke that, Monsanto!

12. Part of what makes me enjoy this is the activist is just
"A normal mom" who was motivated by the thought that Monsanto's GMO stuff might someday be the only food available to her kids.

So now, because of her hard work, if you run for office as a Dem in Calif. - you can't be supporting GMO.

14. Thank you for asking.
I do not know Tom VilSUCK?
I do not work for MonSatan....who ever the heck that is?
I have found that anytime something is posted with Monsanto in the title...that ignorance and stupidity follow....now I might add immaturity.
What a coincidence that you proved my point....thank you!!

Yours will become a minority opinion.

8. Monsatan is out of control. They have had farmers put in jail for using non-GM seeds.
These folks, along with the other "agri-business" giants are taking over our world agriculture and endangering our plant AND animal life.

Great work!! all of you who are fighting this.

9. Obama just appointed a former Monsanto lobbyist to the FDA.
Now everybody is on the same team. Not our team.

17. Yep good ol' Mike Taylor, one of the reasons that I
Voted for Obama and against Hillary, is now on the Obama-approved team of Hillary re-treads.

What so many fail to realize, we have a new third party, and those on it have a giant (C) behind their names.

Or maybe it should be a giant (M) for Monsanto rather than an initial (C) for Corporatist?
