CIA Vision, Mission & Values
who are the cia's 'customers' ?

Vision
One Agency. One Community. An Agency unmatched in its core capabilities, functioning as one team, fully integrated into the Intelligence Community.

Mission
We are the nation’s first line of defense. We accomplish what others cannot accomplish and go where others cannot go. We carry out our mission by:

Collecting information that reveals the plans, intentions and capabilities of our adversaries and provides the basis for decision and action.

Producing timely analysis that provides insight, warning and opportunity to the President and decisionmakers charged with protecting and advancing America’s interests.

Conducting covert action at the direction of the President to preempt threats or achieve US policy objectives.

Core Values
Service. We put Country first and Agency before self. Quiet patriotism is our hallmark. We are dedicated to the mission, and we pride ourselves on our extraordinary responsiveness to the needs of our customers.

Integrity. We uphold the highest standards of conduct. We seek and speak the truth—to our colleagues and to our customers. We honor those Agency officers who have come before us and we honor the colleagues with

whom we work today.

Excellence. We hold ourselves—and each other—to the highest standards. We embrace personal accountability. We reflect on our performance and learn from that reflection.

2. Stupidity may I add.

Stupidity. Didn't foresee the Iranian revolution

Unintended consequences of arming/training Mujahideen

Had no up to date intel on Saddam's WMD capability post 1993.

Had no apparent knowledge of the 9/11 plot or plotters,

Engaged in torture of suspects that provide nothing but false flag intel that cost the US millions in
snipe hunts.

I'd say they were unmatched in their "core capabilities". If the rest of the world functioned as they do there would be no more world.

4. When was this written?
I thought the mission of the CIA was to counter the KGB. Pretty much period. And they should have been dissolved in 1989 when the Soviet Union ended the KGB. Customers?

The agency has such a disgraceful and horrible history of actions and failures that it should be put out of its misery ASAP.

6. The CIA was a developement of the OSS which did much to win WWII
The big problem in the early years was bringing in Nazi resources to guide the operations of the agency. When you work with a mentality of "by any means necessary", people will do bad things for good reasons. The CIA is a needed agency but they should not have operational authority. They should only be an intelligence agency. We need to know what the rest of the world is thinking and doing but we need to stop pissing in other people's sandbox and be shocked when they don't like it.

The last decade or so got even worse when people with ideological blinders got into positions of power. An intelligence agency can not be effective or reliable if it colors it's judgment. There were people in the agency that knew the Soviet threat was BS, they knew the "primary enemy" was going broke and no serious threat. But how can the weapons manufacturers make any money if we don't have a threat?

I don't think the CIA is a failure but I'm sure it's been corrupted and given authority it shouldn't have. How do you fix it? Lets start with congressional oversight. I think the best place to start is money. What do they get and where do they spend it? They don't have to reveal any super secrets just tell us where the money goes.

5. re: WHAT BULL SHIT!
Some how they forgot their own mission.

There is now iron clad proof that the CIA working with groups inside of FBI HQ deliberately, knowingly, and intentionally allowed the al Qaeda terrorists to carry out the attacks on 9/11. They not only withheld information on the Kuala Lumpur al Qaeda planning meeting from the FBI criminal investigators on the Cole bombing in a massive criminal conspiracy, but then shut down all FBI investigations of al Qaeda terrorists found to be inside of the US just prior to the attacks on 9/11. They not only knew the names of these terrorists but even knew these al Qaeda terrorists were inside of the US in order to prepare for a massive attack on a target in the US.

They did this knowing that as a direct result of their actions thousands of Americans were going to perish in the al Qaeda attacks they had many warnings about. The US governments own documents from US official source and webs site in fact now are now the absolute proof of this.

People inside of our own government intentionally allowed the al Qaeda terrorists to murder 3000 people on 9/11.

There are now web sites that even have the actual US government documents that prove all of this.
