You know what would be awesome?
If we could extend the rec-unrec option to every single poster in a thread, and see the actual negative number counts as well.

That would be comedy gold!

5. The amount of people who's self esteem...
...is directly tied in to what a herd of mostly anonymous folks on a tag board think of their daily ramblings and opinions has always fascinated me to no end.

This whole new deal of the rec-unrec option has really brought that little issue to the forefront. I'm old, and remember when BBS's on an echo, were boards that you dialed in on someones modem on their home PC, which eventually gave way to Usenet spools. After all these years of watching and participating, and seeing the evolution of various internet message boards through the decades, the one thing that has remained a constant, is how many people just love the sound of their own voices.

And it's amazing how many people will take that to the extreme, to the point where anyone that does not absolutely agree with their narrow view of the spinning earth, is part of an all encompassing conspiracy against them.

Anyway...this will play out as well. I'll be LMAO while it does.

6. I'm not sure if they did...I would have remembered that.
Although there are a few boards, that actually give options to "down-mod" posts, to the point that after a certain amount of negative recs, they actually get auto-deleted.
