2. They can do it without government approval...
...they're just trying to shift responsibility.

3. Wasn't it AIG that "sold" something like half a trillion $$$ in "credit default swaps?"
Selling something it didn't have? How can you sell something you don't have?

And why hasn't anyone gone to prison over this?

8. screw that, how bout a 200% tax on any bonuses...
These greedy fucks are too wealthy as it is, it can't be about the money, it's gotta be just a pissing contest to see who's got the biggest "bonus".

7. So? Who's in charge of deciding if they get it?
I'm on the phone to that person as soon as I can find out who it is. I'm also going to email their phone number and any web contact info to my "Justifiably Outraged at Government (Whatever the Party) Corporate Handouts" email group.

This is just maddening.

It's not just the corporate whores. It's the government johns.

11. THEY are...the "permission" thing is just an attempt to shift blame.
They can hand them out regardless of what the government says.

9. There were supposed to be caps, remember?
But then they quietly removed that requirement. Now it's back to bite them in the ass again.

What ever happened to political courage?

18. Shame.. Shame..On the Greedy Politicians!!
I just came from the grocery store.

There was a lady in front of me in line. She looked to be in her mid-70's. She had on scrubs..she looked very tired like she just finished her shift. She might have been a CNA at a local nursing home?

She had 2 potatos... an onion, a small package of stew meat and some other small things. You could tell it was probably her meals for the entire weekend.

When the cashier told her the total..the elderly lady almost cried... she had to give the package of stew meat back because she didn't have enough money. She was very embarrassed. (I gave $5 to the cashier to cover it) I am unemployed... but the lady needed it more than I did.

When I think what the greedy-fuck politicians and bankers have done to this country.. it just makes my blood boil... there are no words for how they have sucked the life out of this country. And why would the supposedly "Greatest Country in the World", treat its senior citizens like this?

Yet... the MSM acts like everything is fine.. AIG gets more money and our CONgress sits in fine leather chairs on Capital Hill doing NOTHING!!!

Something has got to give...

19. Don't you love how the peak bonus level,
the amount of pay they were pulling down at the very height of the financial bubble is now considered standard minimum Wall Street wage?

This would be like a decrepit, steroid-free Barry Bonds going back to the Giants and demanding the same contract, inflation adjusted, as he earned in his peak years.
