We need a simple law: Felonies cannot be classified.
That's it. Period. If a felony is committed, whatever it was in connection with is immediately and automatically de-classified.

2. Because we seem to be having a rash of crimes
that no one can even discuss, let alone prosecute, because its all "classified".

3. I imagine it has something to do with giving the president the power to commit crimes.
By classifying anything that could be evidence in the crime used to convict him.

6. That's a little to broad IMO
A person working on a secret weapons satellite gets busted for felony theft of government property.

Does the whole project become declassified?

7. How about giving Federal judges security clearances?
They did earn their way up through the ranks enough to be given a robe and gavel - you'd think at least some of them would be trustworthy and clean-nosed enough to be given a security clearance.

That way, court cases that involve state secrets can be handled in regular courts - if something classified comes up, the judge just handles the issue in his chamber and issues a ruling.

It's a much better way than handling it with "State secret, you lose!!!"
